Here Are Some Responses From The Evaluations Of The 2008 Conference

  • I have grown each time I've been to a conference, in many ways... It's always a shot in the arm for creativity.
  • I enjoyed the pervasive sense of humor, which did not seem to come at a cost of serious information.
  • Thanks so much for everything... it really was, overall, a great conference!
  • I really enjoyed meeting everyone and the artists were so helpful and down to earth!
  • The activities were well paced so that there was always time to stop and talk. The sense of community was very powerful.
  • Nice selection of seminars and speakers, activities to attend (please keep the raffle); three and a half days full of information and meeting new people.
  • It has been an experience of a life time for me.
  • Wonderful location. The people at Purdue do everything possible to help us. The display windows for the Guilds to use are awesome. The conference is a long awaited treat every 2 years. Well done everyone!
  • This conference was a great value for the money.
  • Please do keep the 9am sessions! those were fun, informative and it was nice to get everyone in the same room each day. Really smart way to get the important announcements to everyone, too. I think that was an excellent idea. Don't change it!
  • It was my first and I had a great time, learned a lot and am very inspired!
  • I appreciate all that the Guild does for the artists and artisans and emerging crafters... bringing them all together is an enormous challenge, and you succeed so well. Thank you for your supreme efforts!
  • It was very well organized and I was very pleased with what I learned and with the new 1-2-1 segment!
  • I just wanted to say how inspired I was by the conference. To meet so many amazingly talented and genuine people was such a treat. To rub elbows with the best in the field was just beyond words. I am so glad that I came.
  • The PowerPoint presentations and the video closeup coverage were really great.
  • After staying at the University Plaza Hotel and having classes & meals there, then participating in all the activities at the Purdue campus, I clearly understand why the conference is there. Having been involved in many conferences in other professions over the decades, I appreciate how difficult it all can be logistically. Purdue has the perfect blend of facilities, amenities, space and most of all the impeccably organized cooperation of their conference staff as well as yours. I was so very impressed at how relaxed and organized everyone made us all feel in the midst of what was clearly a major undertaking! As much as I would love to have the conference in my own backyard, it doesn't make sense & would cost me so much more if it were here. Purdue's the place.
  • It was wonderful to meet so many talented people...especially since I consider myself a beginner.
  • Everyone that I met was wonderful. I had some great conversations with some interesting people. All in all the conference was a truly magnificent experience for me. I can't wait for 2010.
  • I absolutely loved the 9am sessions - it really inspired and touched me on so many levels. Seminars were informative as well.
  • It's a great location in the middle of the country, good price, low expense accommodations, and big variety of food included in the cost. Healthy stir fry option and salad bar were appreciated. Something for everyone.
  • The take-home disks are a huge bonus ’Äî thanks so much!
  • As a person who has been involved in organizing 5 arts conferences, this was an excellent conference. I know what is involved in the planning, the time and exasperation of working with a bunch of artists (God love 'em!). The conference was nicely paced, glitches were handled smoothly with little notice to the attendee's. and everyone was so gracious!
  • I found the keynote speaker so impressive and stimulating that it made the conference for me. The dessert buffet was also a highlight, not for the food which was good, but for the great opportunity to mingle with other attendees and instructors.
  • For me the great price of the conference out weighed the mild inconvenience that the location isn't near a major city or airport.
